BIOGRAPHY
Lovro Korošec (b. 29.05. 1998) is a Slovenian baritone who began his musical journey at the age of
nine, debuting as a boy in the operetta Melodije Srca in Slovenia. This early appearance marked the
beginning of a distinguished artistic path, continued through vocal studies at the Academy of Music,
University of Ljubljana, where he graduated under the mentorship of Prof. Pia Brodnik.
He further refined his training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG), completing
his studies under Univ. Prof. Dr. Phil. Antonius Sol, and is a recipient of the prestigious Best of South-
East Scholarship, awarded by Steiermärkische Sparkasse and Oper Graz.
In 2024, Korošec was selected in Brussels among 44 artists from across the European Union to receive
the title Changemaker, awarded by Culture Action Europe for his contribution to artistic development
and social awareness within the Young Europe Sings project. In the same year, he performed as soloist
in Sir John Rutter’s Mass of the Children under the composer’s direction at the Teatro Comunale Verdi
in Pordenone.
Korošec is an active soloist in both classical and contemporary opera repertoire, as well as in art song
interpretation, and collaborates regularly with institutions such as the Slovene Chamber Music
Theatre, SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, SNG Opera Maribor, and Oper Graz.
His special passion lies with lied and art song repertoire where he regularly works with Barbara Verhovnik
as Duo Enigmatico.
